The Veranda offers clear, straightforward pricing designed to make planning easier for residents and families. Monthly rates are based on apartment type, with both studio and one-bedroom options available. Our flat-rate approach includes utilities, internet, TV service, three daily meals, and snacks—helping keep day-to-day living costs predictable and easy to manage.

Some services are not included in the monthly rate, such as salon services, transportation, and personal furnishings. These can be arranged separately or provided by the resident or family, depending on preference. We’re always happy to walk through pricing details, payment options, and what to expect—so there are no surprises and families can move forward with confidence.

Jon Hinds

Hi, I’m Jon Hinds, owner of The Veranda at Lake Martin. After working with seniors since 2020, I saw a growing need for assisted living options that prioritize respect, calm, and dignity. I founded The Veranda to help meet that need with a community designed to feel personal and well-run.

While I’m not involved in day-to-day care, I stay closely connected—supporting operations, participating in tours, and remaining accessible to local professionals. I value strong referral relationships and open communication, and I welcome you to reach out anytime with questions, coordination needs, or to learn whether The Veranda may be a good fit for someone you support.

Crystal Tucker

Hi, I’m Crystal Tucker, Administrative Director at The Veranda at Lake Martin. With over a decade of experience working with seniors, I approach this role with genuine care for people and deep respect for the stage of life our residents are in.

I’m closely involved in daily operations and tours, helping ensure residents feel supported and that communication is clear and consistent. Building trust, maintaining high standards, and fostering strong relationships are central to my role—and we truly enjoy working alongside our local professional partners.

Strong Fit:

How quickly can The Veranda accept a new resident after discharge?

We can typically complete an assessment and admit within 24–72 hours, depending on care complexity and room availability. Our intake process is streamlined, and we prioritize responsiveness—especially for hospital discharges or patients transitioning from rehab.

Who oversees care, and how is support coordinated?

Care at The Veranda is supported through consistent on-site leadership and close coordination with healthcare partners. Residents are supported by a stable care team that is familiar with individual routines, preferences, and changes in resident wellbeing.

We partner with a local physician, Dr. Timothy Littmann, whose practice—or nursing staff—visits weekly to check on residents. Home health and rehab providers also visit on-site as needed, allowing residents to receive additional services without disrupting daily life. This collaborative approach helps ensure continuity of care, timely updates, and smoother transitions.

Do you offer short-term or respite stays?

Yes. The Veranda offers respite stays that may be appropriate following a hospital or rehab discharge, for caregiver relief, or as a short-term support option. Availability and fit are evaluated individually to ensure we can safely meet the resident’s needs.

What information do you need to evaluate a potential referral?

To evaluate fit, we typically review care needs, mobility level, current diagnoses, and general support requirements. We’re willing to travel for care assessments and are happy to coordinate directly with professional partners to gather the information needed for an informed decision.
